Dear Rich, Episode #13

April 1, 2023 Dear Rich,    I can’t tell you how happy it made me to write April at the top of this letter. 20 Days until court and hopefully some definite answers. April 1st. “April Fools Day” Ineed. LOL.    Nothing to eventful so far today. I talked to my Mom this morning and she was with my Aunt and JoJo. So it was nice to hear all of their voices.   Listening to the banter between all of the boys in here throughout the day, is like listening to a group of elementary kids, trying to see who can play the lamest joke on one another. An argument broke out today, because someone kept pushing the sink buttons and flushing the toilet, hoping it would cause whomever was in the shower at that given moment to have...

Dear Rich, Episode #12

March 31, 2023 Dear Rich,    Hello my love! I woke up feeling more chipper and hopeful today. Last day of March! And exactly 3 weeks or 21 days until court.    I just had my visit with Marilyn. It was so good to see her! We talked and talked about everything and about nothing. I actually felt normal for once like we were on the phone talking about the latest hot gossip. She also told me that she sent me a letter, so looking forward to that. Funny story, remember when I was telling Marilyn about Cody? He’s a good looking white guy in my bunk area… Well today a miracle of miracles happened. My visit with Marilyn was at the same time as Cody’s visit with his sweet Mom!! So they got to see each other and I guess “meet” through the thick ...

March 30th, 2023 Dear Rich,    Hello my love. I miss you. 22 days until court. One day closer. Something weird happened this morning. They called my bunk number over the intercom and asked me to come to the sliding door. I thought maybe it was time to talk to my probation officer. So I quickly got up, got dressed and ran to the door. By the way, at this point, it was like 8am. The deputy came on the speaker and said, “Sean?” I said, “yes…?” He says, “Do you want to see the nurse?” to which my confusion took over and replied with, “ummm… do I NEED to see the nurse? Is something wrong with me?!?” He said, “No-just asking if you would like to see her.” I then said, “Oh… I think I’m okay, but thank you for asking…?” “Okay. No problem.” What? The c...

Dear Rich, Episode #10

March 29, 2023 Dear Rich,   Hola! From the West Hollywood Hills of dayroom #4. What a date has been already. So much to discuss. But first, I love you and I miss you so much. 23 days until court. Still no word from the probation officer, but I’m sure she’s busy and will find a time to see me soon. I sent Jule another set of letters last night so hopefully you see those in a few days time.   So I volunteered to do extra work around the jail if they needed it. Apparently, they always pick people from my dayroom to help with things like clothing exchange, cleaning crew, and things like that. Well, this morning they picked me and I am officially a part of the cleaning crew. What. A. Job. The cleaning crew goes into the unimaginable “...

Dear Rich, Episode #9

March 28th, 2023 Dear Rich,    As each day passes by, I try to be more and more hopeful about coming home. I do have to admit that traveling along side with hopefulness does, comes a fair share of sadness, stress, and despair.  I am really really trying hard to stay as positive as I can, but some days, the empty void that was once occupied with phone calls with you, playing with the dogs, working at the salon, gossiping with friends, shopping trips, adventures at a theme, park, dancing; are filled with loneliness and depression. I’m not writing this to make you or anyone else for that matter. Be sad or feel bad for me, I just promised I would be truthful and honest. Although there have been some laughable, funny moments in here, I am ready to be home. ...

Dear Rich, Episode #8

March 27th, 2023 Dear Rich,   “ when I’m stuck with a day, that’s gray and lonely, I just stick up my chin, and grin and say, oh; the sun will come out tomorrow…” I woke up, feeling a little down and really missing you, everyone and everything. I hid myself under my sheets and blanket, and whispered those words of that stupid, cheesy song from Annie again, and it worked. I got up and started writing you. 25 Days until court. I’m trying to stay as positive as ever.   I just got a letter from my mom. It had a few more phone numbers so now I can add a few more people into my rotating phone calls. She’s trying to organize my visits this week on Wednesday and Friday. God bless my mom. Not too much of an eventful day today. Very mellow. Very....

Dear Rich, Episode #7

March 26th, 2023 Dear Rich,    What a Sunday it has been so far. Lots to discuss. 26 Days until Court. One day closer to a hopeful possibility to coming home. Man, I miss you so much, it truly is unbearable. When I need to go to my “happy place.” I close my eyes and imagine sitting on the couch with you watching Schitt’s Creek, and the dog sitting part between and part on top of us. My sweet Stolu Boli and my Brandy Bean. I can’t wait to hold them again.   A little change of scenery today. We had what they call “clothing exchange”. We have to strip our beds of the sheets and along with those, take our socks, T-shirts, boxers, and towels, and put them in a pile. Actually sans the boxers we keep those on. We then put our orange pants ...
