Dear Rich, Episode #15
April 3, 2023
Dear Rich,
Good morning my love. I got an early start this morning, so I thought I should start by saying hi and telling you how much I love and miss you. I hope you had a good birthday yesterday, I’m almost positive you spent most of the day in bed recovering from the night before. Am I right? Or am I right? LOL. 18 Days until court. The days are slowly but surely passing by. So I learned that Monday mornings are our “mail days”. This morning I got letters from Maryland, my mom, Melanie, and Ahnie; and both Melanie and my mom sent me some actual printed photos. I instantly started bawling, looking at the pictures of the dogs, Scott and Ahnie’s wedding, and some great photos of us and Hawaii with Melanie, Jay and Jordan. How I’m longing to relive all of those memories again. The letters, all of them, were so sweet and touching. Marilyn’s letter made me smile and laugh; Melanie’s was so kind telling me to call anytime and that she wants to keep coming to visit, and then Ahnies. My #1 chismosa. I miss her so so much and all of our random fun to hang out with her and my brother and all of her siblings. I wish I could be sitting at V.I.P.S. With all of them right now. And Tori too of course – she’s the honorary sibling. But all of these letters and photos and memories just keep me even more helpful for a positive outcome on the 21st. 😁
Nothing really eventful today – just another Monday. I called and talk to my mom and Jule and all is well on that end. I braided Frosty’s hair this afternoon – six cornrows. So braid game is still going strong. I guess we could’ve had another Jail vocabulary lesson. This week’s Jail vocab word is Roach or roaching. To Roach would be to migrate from bank to bank when it’s supposed to be “lights out”. When one is “roaching,” that would mean stopping at a bunk here to maybe catch up on the latest dayroom gossip, or stopping there to have a late night snack. Kind of similar to an actual cockroach, scurrying around in the dark, and gathering whatever bits and pieces you can; whether it’s food, gossip, or a quick “soup for chip” exchange. Roaching occurs every night and is sometimes fine. Almost like a midnight tailgating party if you will. And, you will. A deputy even came on the intercom late last night and said, “no more roaching” so there you have it. Roaching. The more you know. 🌈 💫
I’ve been keeping to myself today, because as happy as I was to get all of the pictures, they made me miss home even more than I already do. I love you so much and I’m going to go back to dreaming. A hundred kisses….xoxo
Always & Forever,
Sean ❤️ Poptart
