Dear Rich, Episode #19

                                                                            April 7, 2023

Dear Rich,

Happy good Friday! 14 more days or 2 Weeks until court and hopefully finally some answers. Today is also my Sweet mom’s birthday! She already told me that you messaged her. I talked to her last night since she’s working all day. I talked to Jule this morning and she got some more letters to post – so hopefully you’ll see those soon. This morning has kind of been crazy. I guess they’re really starting to crack down on the rules. A deputy came into the day room at like 9 AM and gave us all “by the book” rules that we have to abide to. Other than not being allowed to work out in the dayroom, nothing really changes for me. You know I’m a brown Noser rule follower. Lol. But some of these guys are going to be put into check, real quick, because some walk around like we are living on Main Street USA at Disneyland instead of a county jail. So that will be entertaining to watch when the time comes.

My brother and Ahnie are coming to visit me tonight – at 9 PM! Lol – Grandpa is going to have to drink some coffee to be alive and well for that. But even still, I’m so so excited to see them and actually talk. It’s currently 3:15 PM so I’ll probably nap and read my book during shift change. I’m still on the first book of the “Wheel of Time” serious, and like 340 pages in. I’m “struggle-bussing” that slowly making my way. It’s really good, just very detailed, and long. Lol – but it is helping the time pass. Our newest addition to the Hills, Isaiah, says that he’s probably leaving today. Here’s the chamomile.- (pronounced sha-mom-a-lay…IYKYK) tea on what I’ve gathered about him. He’s been here probably five or six days and slept about 92.5% of each one. I think he stepped in the shower, only after being asked to, twice; each time for a maximum of 60 to 70 seconds. Two days in a row he said he was sick and claim to have “ throne, everything up”, but then proceeded to ask me if I had a bag of chips or a pop tart to fill his stomach. Let’s call a spade a spade, and say what everyone is thinking. Another J-Catt among our myths. This one was like a camouflage Chamaeleon J-Catt, but eventually, we were able to see his true self. I will let you know if he stays or departs. We are all hoping for the ladder so we can at least get back to a cleaner more bearable sent. Fingers crossed that today is in fact a farewell… but then there is always a struggle and gamble of who is going to feel sad funk. All I think it’s how lucky the Hollywood Hills community was in getting me as a resident. That was like hitting the jackpot lotto. You’re most certainly welcome Hollywood Hills – and all of dayroom 4 for that matter. Here’s to hoping we hit another lucky strike.

I just finished my visit with Scott and Ahnie. It was so good to see the both of them. I haven’t been able to talk to them since before I got booked in. So it was nice to see them and actually talk and catch up on everything. Having their support means so much to me. I remember a time when my brother and I didn’t get along so well, and we would hardly even talk to each other… I cannot even fathom that world now. A world without him or Ahnie is a world that I never want to live in. They even stopped and played with Brandy and Stoli the other day.  I’m sure the babies were so happy. I did my very best not to cry when the lights flashed in the visiting room to indicate that the visit was over. I’m starting to get better at keeping it together. Sometimes it can be pretty difficult as I’m sure you can imagine. Hopefully the next time I see them will be on the outs, and hopefully soon.

Oh my gosh! Sebastian (one of my braiding regulars) made me a gorgeous “shower bag”. It looks like a Native American woven basket – but instead of corn husks, it’s made from plastic commissary bags. It has a braided strap to tied at the end of my bunk, and expands to hold all of my toiletries. My first gift from a client… So special Dot I may even think about bringing it home with me just to show it off and use it in our own bathroom. Well it’s 10:35 PM (almost lights out) so I’m going to get ready for bed. I love you with all of my heart, my love. A hundred kisses…XOXO

Love Always,

Sean ❤️ Pop Tart
